USA Today: Stefanie Scott and Spencer Sutherland to release cover November 30
From Demi Lovato to Selena Gomez and Miley Cyrus, Disney Channel has a history of finding young women with talent as both actresses and singers.
Maybe it’s time to add Stefanie Scott to that list. A star of A.N.T. Farm, Scott has released independent singles since before the show about a group of gifted high-schoolers began in 2011. Now, she teams up with singer-songwriter Spencer Sutherland for a cover of Taylor Swift/Ed Sheeran hit Everything Has Changed. The track premieres at USA TODAY.
“When I first heard the duet by Taylor Swift and Ed Sheeran, it hit close to home,” Scott says. “I love seeing two artists from different genres collaborate to make such a beautiful and meaningful story. I think we all have experienced those feelings and have been in those situations at some point in our lives. I especially loved the song because it truly tells a visual story about what it’s like when you first meet that special someone and how it can change your life.”
“Who doesn’t love Taylor Swift?” Sutherland says. “She’s beautiful, talented and an incredible songwriter. I’ve been a fan for years — not only with how great of a songwriter she is, but how she engages with her fans.”
Swift’s original version of Everything Has Changed appears on her album Red and reached No. 13 on USA TODAY’s Top 40 airplay chart in October.
The Scott/Sutherland cover will be available for digital download Nov. 30.
